Lukia Sleep Consultant London

Hi, Iā€™m Lukia Xhaferi

Born in Greece to Albanian parents, my multicultural upbringing instilled in me a profound appreciation for diversity and empathy. My journey with childcare began during my late teens, providing ad hoc babysitting for a family with twins. Upon arriving in the UK in 2016 following my marriage, I embarked on a career in early years, starting with an apprenticeship as an Early Years Educator. Through relentless dedication and perseverance, I became fully qualified, specialising in assessing children's developmental stages and creating tailored plans to meet their unique needs and interests.

In addition to my work in formal early years settings, I also gained valuable experience working part-time in private homes, assisting families with children of various ages. This hands-on experience exposed me to common challenges such as sleep issues, weaning, and potty training, offering insights into the struggles families face in their everyday lives. It was during this time, I also decided to enrol to a maternity nurse course that would better equip me to offer support with all the above issues.

Reflecting on my career, I sought a path that would allow me to make a meaningful impact on families' lives. The recurring issue of sleep emerged as a significant concern among the families I encountered, prompting me to pursue further education and certification in sleep consultancy. My goal is to provide knowledgeable and supportive guidance to families seeking assistance in this area, empowering them to navigate challenges with confidence and success.

My Approach

I reject the notion of a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to sleep. I firmly believe in the uniqueness of each child and crafting individualised plans to suit their specific needs. Similarly, I avoid favouring one sleep training method over another, understanding that children respond differently and respecting various parenting styles. My approach is rooted in flexibility and adaptability, ensuring that every child receives personalised care and support.
